Middle School

The Middle School consists of grades six through eight. Because these are important transitional years for students, the curriculum and other activities are designed for the special needs of young adolescents. Teachers who are specialists in this age group continue the close contact of the younger years while encouraging students to become accountable for their individual decisions and to accept themselves and others.

In addition to the core subjects of English, mathematics, social studies, and science, Middle School students enjoy a variety of enrichment courses, including art, computer, creative writing, reading for pleasure, and current events. Formal preparation for the SAT begins in seventh grade and continues each year. Physical education emphasizes games and exercises appropriate for the high energy level of this age group.
