CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR LADY COUGAR SOFTBALL TEAM!  They defeated the “Lady Patriots” of Citizens Christian on Saturday (14th) to advance to the Semi-Final round of the State Softball Championship playoffs.  They will now face the ”Lady Knights” of Windsor Academy (Macon) tomorrow in the best 2 of 3 series.  The games will be played in Macon.  Game times are 2:00 P.M., 4:00 P.M., and 6:00 P.M. Good luck, ladies!

 

BOARD OF TRUSTEES will meet on Tuesday (24th) at 6:30 P.M. in the conference room.

 

MIDDLE SCHOOL CHEERLEADERS will be selling biscuits tomorrow at break.  Cost is $3.00.

 

4-H ARCHERY TEAM:  Any student 5th grade or older who would like to join the Jasper County 4-H Archery Team, is cordially invited to attend an orientation meeting tomorrow night at 6:30 P.M. in the Fellowship Hall of Monticello Baptist Church.  Please be sure a parent comes with you to the meeting.

 

PINK OUT TEE SHIRTS:  We have a few extra “pink out” tee shirts for $10.00, if anyone is interested.  We have 3 large, 3 extra-large, and one 2XL available.

 

OUR SHOTGUN TEAM competed this past Saturday (14th) at Tom Lowe Skeet and Trap Range in Atlanta.  Nine schools (92 shooters) competed in both “skeet” and “trap,” shooting 75 skeet targets and 100 trap targets.  Piedmont finished in 3rd place overall.   Piedmont shooters, Mitch Marsh finished in 3rd place, Anne Marie Hildebrant 8th place, and Eli Waits in 9th place.

 

SECRET SANTA SHOPPING:   This year, Dec 6th will be our “Secret Santa Shopping” Day, giving our elementary students an opportunity to purchase gifts without their parents around.  This is our 18th year, and we are searching for merchants to participate in this big event.  Merchants who are interested, please contact Ms. Alison Hildebrant by Monday, Nov. 27th, to sign up.  (706) 468-8818, Ext. 304 or   alison_hildebrant@piedmontacademy.com  

 

PRAYER BREAKFASTS HAVE RESUMED.  They will take place each Wednesday  – 7:15 a.m.  in the cafeteria.  Biscuits available for $2.00.  All students and parents invited to attend.

 

BOX TOPS:  Our first competition will run October 16 – 21, 2017.  Please send all collected Box Tops to your child’s homeroom teacher.  There will be a prize given to the class that collects the most Box Tops.

 

CAMPBELL’S SOUP LABELS:  Don’t forget . . . we are also collecting Campbell’s Soup labels.  Please save them for us.  Accumulated labels may be turned in at any time. 

 

 

OUR GRANDPARENTS’ CLUB is holding a raffle in conjunction with their annual Grand Bazaar and Flea Market held each October (for the past 16 years).  The Bazaar will open for business @ 12:00 noon on Thursday, Oct. 26th and continue on Friday (27th).  It will close at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday (28th).  The raffle this year is a “50/50 Cash” raffle.  Tickets are $10.00 each and are available for purchase in the school office.   Ticket sales will continue until 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, Oct. 28th.  The drawing will take place at 2:00 P.M. on the 28th.  One winner will be picked from the barrel of tickets.  That person will receive one-half (1/2) of the total money collected from the sale of tickets.  The Grandparents’ Club will receive the remaining half.  You do not have to be present to win.

Monday (16th):

-Balfour Rep here to take ring orders from juniors.

 

Tuesday (17th):

-State Softball (Final Four).  We will face the “Lady Knights” of Windsor Academy in the best 2 of 3 series.  The games will be played in Macon.  Game times are 2:00 P.M., 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. 

-Middle School Cheerleaders to sell biscuits @ Break.  Cost $3.00

 

Wednesday (18th):

-Prayer Breakfast @ 7:15 A.M.  Sausage and Bacon Biscuits available.  Cost $2.00

-Ag Expo in Moultrie, Ga.  FFA members leave at 7:00 A.M.

-K-3, K-4, K-5 Classes to visit Mitcham Farms in Oxford

-Varsity Cheerleaders to sell biscuits at Break.  Cost $3.00

 

Thursday (19th):

-Dress down Day for Senior Class.  They won the “Spirit Chain” competition at Homecoming.

-Chapel for Middle School and High School students in gym @ 1:35 P.M.

-Middle School Football game with ACE HAS BEEN CANCELLED

 

Friday (20th):

-Pep Rally @ 2:20 P.M. in the gym

-Varsity Football Vs. Flint River here at home.  Kickoff @ 7:30 P.M.  This will be SENIOR NIGHT.  All seniors and their parents will be recognized.  10th Grade is responsible for concession stand workers for this game.

-Shotgun Team sells biscuits @ break.  Cost $3.00

-Krispy Kreme Doughnuts delivered for Senior Class Fundraiser.

 

Saturday (21st):

-State Softball Championship Game @ Mercer in Macon.

 

Monday (23rd):

-Red Ribbon Week – Program for High School students in the cafeteria @ 1:35 P.M.

-Grandparents begin setting up in the gym for their annual Bazaar.  The gym will be off-limits all week, except for those helping our grandparents.
